Today's briefing includes a former Army Officer at the Hot Dog Eating Contest, charges against a Sgt. after 3 Humvees were destroyed, and a JBLM soldier repping the Army at the Warrior Games.

Soldier Charged in Failed Humvee Drop

Sgt. John Skipper is charged with destruction of government property and making a false official statement following the failed airdrop of 3 Humvees at Hohenfels training area in Germany in April of 2016. Humvees can cost up to 220,000 dollars, you can watch the spectacular video of the mishap by following this link. 

US Navy Trains with Vietnam

Amid uncertainty in Asia, the US began a five day training session with the Vietnam People’s Navy yesterday. According to Navy’s release, the training will focus on ship handling, medical evacuations, and how to handle unplanned encounters at sea. 

Former Army Officer in Hot Dog Eating Contest 

Retired Army officer "Buffalo" Jim Reeves powered through 22 hot dogs on Tuesday at the 2017 Nathan’s Famous International Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island, New York. His efforts placed him 14th out of 21 competitors. Here’s a link to the full article: 

JBLM Soldier at Warrior Games

Specialist Maria Garcia is currently representing Team Army at the DoD Warrior Games underway in Chicago. Garcia is recovering with the Warrior Transition Unit from injuries to her back knee, pelvis, and shoulder that occurred in 2013, leading to several surgeries. During trials she excelled in swimming, shooting, and cycling. We’ll post results of the competition when it wraps up this weekend.
